Naturally Raised Highland BeefU Rock Ranch is committed to sustainable agriculture and the humane treatment of animals by raising, handling and feeding the animals in a natural manner. Our cattle are born, raised and finished on grass pasture-never confined to a feedlot. Our Highland beef is a healthy alternative to commercially available beef products. Our beef is as naturally raised as we can possibly make it. All our cattle, regardless of age or sex enjoy free range on a rotational pasture without the use of herbicides or pesticides. No additives, such as, growth hormones, steroids, implants or animal by-products are used on our cattle, although, we do have a herd health program of routine worming and vaccinations. U Rock Ranch beef steers are also fed free choice grain while on pasture the few months prior to slaughter. Steers are terminated at 18 - 24 months of age. The beef is USDA inspected and hung for a minimum of 14-21 days to ensure the most tender and flavorful meat on can buy! (Due to the high cost of aging meat, it is no longer a common practice for commercially available beef.) We are in constant contact with our butcher during the hanging (aging) and cutting process to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. We are committed to bring you, our customer, the best beef we possibly can. We market our beef with Dave Forsyth and are collectively called "Royal Beef Farms" with sales out of our farms in Mayville and Wautoma. Highland Beef Prices, Fall 2005
